In this 4-week, improv-based course, you'll develop essential leadership skills to:

- Build trust to create a supportive team culture.

- Foster innovation through collaboration and open idea-sharing.

- Strengthen adaptability and confidence in uncertain situations.

- Shift from a "scripted" mindset to an agile, responsive leadership style.

Think of this class as a gym — a fun one! You’ll get your reps in, strengthen key leadership muscles, and walk away with practical skills you can immediately apply in your professional life.

Who is this course for?

This interactive course is designed for leaders at any level who want to grow their ability to lead with agility, navigate the unknown, and build stronger, more collaborative teams.

No prior improv experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to grow as a leader.

Our classes are held in an indoor facility in the heart of Central Berkeley, near the intersection of San Pablo Way + University Ave.

The building policy is shoes-off, so we recommend wearing socks.

Mallory Penney is passionate about empowering leaders, teams, and organizations to facilitate accelerated growth and change. Her ability to break down complex challenges and make them accessible creates a learning environment that is approachable, engaging, and enjoyable.

As a Certified Leadership Coach and Facilitator, Mallory has facilitated thousands of hours of virtual and in-person behavioral science-based workshops to companies worldwide, including many clients on the FTSE100 and S&P100. Her work spans from coaching individuals to facilitating large group trainings, and she has worked with a wide range of leaders from entry level to c-suite.

Mallory founded a leadership development company, Penney Coaching and Consulting, where she offers a dynamic range of skills and provides subject-matter expertise in many areas including: building a feedback culture, creating an inclusive organization, developing high-performing teams, cultivating a psychologically safe environment, and change management leadership. This breadth of knowledge affords Mallory the ability to identify a range of challenges across an organization, then customize her training and coaching to fit a unique team’s blend of need.

As a Certified Applied Improvisation Practitioner Mallory leverages innovative, research-bas techniques to help leaders build adaptability, improve quick decision-making, and foster collaborative environments. While improvisation may seem unconventional, it is a powerful approach to helping leaders think on their feet, navigate uncertainty, and enhance their ability to communicate clearly in critical situations.

Mallory holds a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Certified Profession CoActive Coach (CPCC). She is completing her ACC accreditation from the International Coaching Federation.
